Leading centre in education and social research

A graduate college of the University of London, the IOE’s turnover was more than £67m in 2011. Our research record, size and partnerships place us among the world’s premier schools of education. With academics and alumni active across every continent, our reach is truly global.

Founded in 1902, as a teacher training college in London, the IOE is now a world-class research and teaching institution.  Our distinguished history and current mission are rooted in a commitment to social justice. We know that education transforms lives – and so do our supporters.

IOE has a main hall of residence, John Adams Hall (which comprises the Endsleigh Street building and Endsleigh Gardens building) and two other buildings - Woburn Square and Gordon Square - within walking distance of the campus.

People at the IOE come from more than 100 countries. And our professional backgrounds and ages are mixed. This makes for lively discussions, fresh perspectives, new friendships and an inspirational learning experience. We believe in a warm welcome and equal opportunities for all.
