The University of London is unlike many other universities. It consists of 18 self governing Colleges and 10 other smaller specialist research Institutes. In many ways the Colleges are considered universities in their own right: they set their own entrance criteria for their courses and they offer their own services to students. Some now also have their own degree awarding powers. All students from all the Colleges and Institutes are also University of London students, making them part of a community of over 120,000 students and giving them access to many services in London.

Many levels of study are covered at theUniversityofLondonincluding Foundation degrees, undergraduate and postgraduate degrees and diplomas and research degrees. The Colleges also have a wide range of short courses and summer programmes. Pre-university school students are also able to sample University of London courses and life through the Taster Course programme.

In fact it is not even essential to be inLondonto study for a University of London degree. We currently have over 50,000 students studying in 180 different countries with theUniversityofLondon International Programmes.  As well as offering a world class education the University has a range of other services on offer including a careers service, data archiving and networking, library services, conference facilities and you can even use University buildings for location filming.

The University of London has a wide range of accommodation options and most students find that we have an accommodation solution to suit their needs. A number of Colleges have their own Halls but some of the smaller more specialised Colleges and Institutes do not, so the University also has Intercollegiate Halls to which students from ALL Colleges may apply. Virtual Tours of the Intercollegiate Halls are also available to view.
