Nottingham Trent University’s reputation as one of the most popular universities in the UK has been reinforced with the latest undergraduate degree application figures released by UCAS. According to the new digest, the University is now the 10th most popular institution in terms of applications received, having risen six places in the last year. The top ten position has been secured with a 24.1% rise in applications against this point last year, well above the national sector increase of 17.2%. The figures also reveal that the University has recorded the fifth largest increase in applications out of the top 30 institutions.
The award-winning transformation of NTU’s estate
NTU’s ambitious estates regeneration strategy has led to a prestigious award nomination from the Times Higher Education Leadership and Management Awards 2010.
Over the past three years, the estates management team have led a £90 million regeneration of Newton and Arkwright, two Grade II* listed buildings at the heart of the city centre. The project includes substantial refurbishment throughout and major construction of an ultra-modern central court building to link Newton with Arkwright to create both a versatile learning environment and a striking front door to the University.
Redevelopment work has taken place on all three of the University’s campuses, ranging from the renovation of existing facilities to the building of state-of-the-art lecture theatres, restaurants, reception areas, student services areas and laboratories. New student accommodation is among the finest in theUKand facilities such as the Psychology lab in Chaucer and the observatory atCliftoncampus are underpinning our mission to deliver education and research that shapes lives and society.
