Queen Mary,University of London attracts some of the brightest minds from across the country and the world and recent successes in several important league tables confirm our place among the global elite.

The Times Higher Education World Rankings (2011) places Queen Mary:

17th in the UK

127th in the world

In the last national Research Assessment Exercise (2008), Queen Mary ranked 11th in the country (The Guardian) and 1st for several subjects, placing us above a number of Russell Group universities including King’s College London,Bristol, Southampton, Leeds andSheffield. Described as ‘the biggest star among the research-intensive institutions’ by The Times Higher Education Supplement, Queen Mary is proud of its strong tradition of academic research and passing this research onto our students through high quality teaching.

Set away from the Mile End Road and set beside the beautiful Regent’s Canal, you would be forgiven for thinking that you were no longer in busy London when on campus. Our students live in the award winning Westfield Student Village, only a few minutes’ walk from all of our social and teaching facilities. They can enjoy the tranquil surroundings of campus and yet can be in the centre of the City in minutes.

On campus, nothing is ever more than a few minutes away. Students living in the Westfield Student Village are only a five-minute walk from the Students’ Union bar and any lecture theatres – perfect for those 9am starts!

Queen Mary also boasts one of the most active Students’ Unions inLondon. They run over 100 clubs and societies and organise regular social events at the recently refurbished Drapers’ Bar, so our students are never bored here. For the more athletically inclined, the recently opened campus Health and Fitness Centre offers a wide range of exercise classes and industry standard gym equipment for use by our students.

Our cosmopolitan student body is often described as the friendliest inLondon. With over 15,000 students on a single campus, our students can socialise with people from all walks of life; we are proud to boast a student body that is both national and international in its makeup. No one day is ever the same for our students and with so much to do on campus, it is no surprise that they are more than satisfied with their time here.

Our students will graduate with the necessary transferable skills to succeed in their careers, so it is no coincidence that Queen Mary graduates are consistently in the top 10 for graduate starting salaries in the UK(The Sunday Times University Guide 2012).

Our unique location between the City and Docklands means that some of the biggest companies in the world are located just a stone’s throw away from campus. The quality of Queen Mary’s students is well known to many blue-chip companies who advertise their training places with us as a result.

Queen Mary students graduate with a new and open way of thinking and our degrees enable our graduates to achieve positions of importance; from the pulsating world of finance to positions of prominence in law and medicine, our graduates experience success quickly
